Scale Limitations: Some hubs struggle when companies need to scale rapidly. The intimate communities that nurture startups can feel constraining for scale-ups requiring hundreds of specialized hires.

Infrastructure Needs: From Sophia Antipolis' transportation challenges to Lille's warehouse shortages, physical infrastructure hasn't always kept pace with digital ambitions.

Yet within these challenges lie opportunities. The shift to remote work makes location less determinative. Government initiatives like the French Tech Mission increasingly recognize regional strengths. European funding programs support deep tech development. Most importantly, a new generation of entrepreneurs increasingly values impact and lifestyle alongside exits and valuations.
