As your startup grows, collective representation becomes important:
CSE (Comité Social et Économique)
Mandatory When: - 11+ employees for 12 consecutive months
CSE Responsibilities: - Health and safety issues - Working conditions - Economic consultation - Social and cultural activities
Employer Obligations: - Organize elections - Provide meeting time (paid) - Information and consultation - Budget allocation (0.2-0.22% of payroll)
Union Relations
While less common in startups, be prepared: - Respect union rights - Cannot discriminate against union members - May need to negotiate collective agreements - Industry-wide agreements may apply
